Rashad Bishop opted to prep at St. Benedicts after a succussful run at John F Kennedy high school for the Paterson, NJ native to square away his academic situation and realize his goal of playing in the Big East. With offers from Rutgers and Seton Hall over the summer, Bishop proved he was Big East worthy. In the last month, another school became involved with the athletic swing man and after visiting the Cincinnati Bearcat program last week for their Midnight Madness kickoff, Bishop committed to the Bearcats. The lefty has shown an increased ability to score from the perimeter to go along with his always present athletic ability to score attacking the rim. He will have to continue to be motivated to work on his skills to excel in the Big East, where he will see more and more players his equal in athletic ability, so he will not be able to rely only on that aspect. He is a good pick-up for Cincinnati and should fit into Mick Cronin's aggressive style.

With Bishop and an earlier commitment from Larry Davis, we show the Bearcats with one open scholarships for the class of 2007. At this point in time we are unsure of what direction the Bearcats are looking in. We will try to track down some new names in the near futute. We have long expected them to go after a big man, but the likely targets seem to be dwindling. We ahve heard names like Herb Pope, Brandon Cooks, Martavious Adams and Brian Williams, but nothing concrete of late.

We will keep you posted!
